Harimo Fruit Farm

Welcome to Harimo Fruit Farm

Welcome to Harimo Fruit Farm
We have had a mandarin farm here in the Kabuta area for more than 50 years. The farm is 200 m above sea level and has a sweeping view of the Ariake Sea.
Our mandarins grow in harmony with nature and have been described as “superb” and ordered from around Japan. The “Cosmos mandarin” is the most popular of the many types we have. These were named after the “cosmos” flowers that bloom around the mandarin farm from late October, because the simple yet powerful image of the flowers fits the mandarin exactly. They have a perfect balance of texture, sweetness and acidity that fills the mouth.

The secrets of delicious mandarins

The secrets of delicious mandarins

At the Harimo Fruit Farm, we replant our mandarin trees in order to produce delicious mandarins. We also scatter fertilizer on the mandarin fields after the harvesting has ended, in preparation for the following year. This is how we have worked over many years to produce delicious mandarins.
We also lay white sheets (mulch sheets) as shown in the photograph to prevent the intrusion of rain. This is a measure to sweeten the mandarins, as the lack of moisture stresses the mandarins and raises the sugar content. The sheets also cause a scattered reflection of the sunlight, so the light reaches the inside of the plants.

The Harimo Fruit Farm produces many different types of mandarin.
The most popular of those types is the “Cosmos mandarin.”
It is a wonderful mandarin that is simple and adorable, just like the cosmos flowers that bloom around the mandarin farm from late October.
The perfectly balanced texture, sweetness and acidity fill the mouth.
